The Camaro Z28, is returning in 2012... it has been confirmed by GM's VP for global design. The car in performance will include the 550+ hp 6.2L supercharged V8 LSA engine, (the one that's in the Cadillac CTS-V). As far as the body, well, I'm sure you've seen it in Transformers 2.
Time for some competition Ford and Dodge... wait, there will be none. ;)

The GT500 barely makes the cut, but with 100 extra horses, who wouldnt. Better luck when the Z28 comes out. Well se what the GT500 has to offer agains someone his own size.

DeleteYou see more Mustangs on the road because Mustangs are cute little girl cars that everyone drives. The 2010 Camaro beats the hell out of the Mustangs. Yeah Mustangs are finally getting beefed up to the 5.0L, but it took the new Camaros for that to happen. Keep tryin to play catch up Ford. Oh and when this Z28 comes out, Mustang owners won't stand a damn chance.

ReplyDeleteFord isnt playing catchup. If you haven't noticed, the camaro went out of production, came back, and the mustang is still outselling the camaro. Performance wise, the ss came out with almost exact numbers as the 2010 mustang (with an engine 1.6 liters larger). Soon, the mustang will have a 5.0L with a 0-60 of 4.4 seconds and quarter of 12.7 while the camaro ss has a 0-60 of 4.9 and quarter of 13.4, and that's still with an extra 1.2 liters of engine. Now it seems to me that the z28 is playing catchup with the 5.0 huh? Looks like the new camaros are going to need a supercharger in order to keep up. Then I'll throw one on my 5.0 and the camaro be left in the rearview for good ;)

ReplyDeleteThe thing is..yes the Camaro went out of production and came back, Ford has had ample time to tweek the stang...Chevy will do the same for the Camaro just wait and see...You got to admit though when they engineered the 5th Gen Camaro they did a damn good job at it!!!
ReplyDeleteThey did a good job in designing the retro look Camaro, but that was only after Ford decided to do a retro look to the Mustang back in 2005. So to me Chevy can't come up with their own idea with out biting off of Ford. As far as the Mustang being a girls car well all I have to say is whatever they need to do to get the sales they need is fine with me. The Camaro and the Firebird went out of production in the early 2000's because the Mustang by itself doubled the sales of the Camaro and Firebird combined. History will repeat itself. Enjoy the new Camaro while it is here because eventually they will stop production on a car that can only get about a 1/4 of the sales that Mustang is doing.

ReplyDeleteFord might build a fast little car but workmanship sucks.I have put so many engines in fords that I can now do it blind folded,the point i'm trying to make is buy you a chevy and enjoy the ride,buy a ford and make sure you are prepared to seat at the repair shop for those little hiccups ford always builds into that junk they call cars!

As far as bringing the Camaro back only because Ford retroed the Mustang, I disagree. Ford did that in 2005 its 2010. Chevy just brought back their own muscle car into production...Just as Chrysler did aswell. The Chevy Camaro has already topped sales this year over the Ford Mustang....But either way you look at it..its back to the days of muscle car vs. muscle car...the competition will continue as it did in the past....
ReplyDeleteFrom a mechanics standpoint....I agree with the statement above...FORD (fix or repair daily) still sticks..Why don't you just check Ford's Service Bulletin's unlike the recall, The consumer isn't notified but these bulletins are available to the consumer when requested. You would be amazed!

ReplyDeletethe new Chevy Camaro Concept actually had its redesign back in 2003 when the Ford Mustang Concept came out in 2004, the Dodge Challenger became a concept in 2006, another reason for the "Retro War" is because in 2004 Chevy released a Chevelle Concept with a newer and better 454 big block pushing 1300 horse and 1500 torque, Ford is supposedly trying to push a Torino or Gran Torino remake and Ford is trying to push a Mustang Sedan Concept, while Dodge is pushing a Coronet Concept and a two door Charger and Chevy is pushing for El Camino, Nova, Monza, Chevette, and Corvair Concepts. personally i am a Mopar person and well i hate that the rice grinders are taking over and the Big 3 are just sitting around recreating fudes of the past, i say bring back all of the older cars as retro, stop fighting, and KICK THE RICERS ASSES!!!!
